Hugh
Burden stars as J. G. Reeder, an investigator with the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The series is based on The Mind of Mr J. G. Reeder, a book written in 1925
by Edgar Wallace. This period crime and mystery series set in the 1920s had a
run of only 16 episodes: season one in 1969 and season two in 1971.
Reeder
has an uncanny ability to think like a criminal and thus, armed only with this
insight is able to solve any mystery he encounters. Hugh Burden is perfectly cast
as Reeder, who is happier with a cup of tea, as opposed to something stronger!
Willoughby Goddard also starred as Reeder's boss at the Department, Sir
Jason Toovey, and Mona Bruce played assistant Mrs. Houchin.
